Privacy Policy — Game of the Generals
Last updated: 5 November 2026
Game of the Generals ("the app") is published by Raylyn Software Solutions ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app stores and sends.
Playing offline
Playing against the computer and playing two phones on the same Wi-Fi network send nothing to us. Your player names, avatars, game history, saved games and settings stay on your device. Uninstalling the app removes them.
Playing online
Online play needs our game server (hosted on Cloudflare). When you go online the app sends and the server handles:
- A random player ID. The app creates a random secret on your device. The server stores only a one-way hash of it, which identifies you to other players. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number or advertising ID.
- Your display name and the avatar you chose, shown to your opponent.
- Game activity: the army setup and moves of the game you are playing, and the preset chat phrases you send. A game's data is deleted shortly after the game ends.
- Your standing, a small number that rises when you finish games and falls when you leave them, used to pair you with other players.
- Reports and blocks: if you report a player, we keep the report (the reporter's and the reported player's IDs and names, and the reason you chose) to review abuse. Players you block are kept on your device and sent to the server so you are not matched with them.
- Your network (IP) address, which the server sees for every connection. We use it only to limit abuse (for example, guessing private-game codes) and do not store it long term. Cloudflare may keep ordinary connection logs.
Computer opponents. In any room, when no other player is available, a player who searches for a match may be paired with a computer opponent after a short wait. It is not a person, and a game against it does not change your standing. Real players are always matched first. Computer opponents you choose to play offline are marked "(bot)".
There are no accounts and we do not sell your data. Cloudflare processes data on our behalf to run the server, and Google provides the ads (see below). Data is sent over an encrypted connection.
Ads
The app shows banner ads from Google AdMob. To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google's ads SDK may collect:
- your device's advertising ID and other device identifiers;
- your IP address, from which an approximate location can be worked out;
- how you interact with ads (views and taps);
- crash and performance data about the ads.
Google may use this to personalise the ads you see. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your device's Google settings. How Google uses this data: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and online play is intended for players aged 13 and over.
Your choices and deleting your data
- You can play offline without sending us anything.
- Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app removes everything on your device, including your random player ID. The server then has no way to link anything to you.
- To ask us to delete reports or other server data connected to your player ID or display name, contact us at the address below with your display name and the approximate date you played.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date above.
